It's the driver for the 1st gen that works and then changes the monitor in Device Manager from Generic PnP monitor to: OLED Display 2560 x 1440 I have downloaded & installed Screen Brightness patches and adaptive brightness patches but the brightness adjustment still doesn't work.īecause of our 'custom' setup, I have tried to use the screen/monitor driver of the 2nd gen model since that is the screen we are using but oddly enough, Device Manager doesn't detect a compatible driver in its list of files. I have also found that this is quite a common problem with some Lenovo laptops. I used Lenovo Service Bridge to install the drivers but for some reason, the screen brightness control is not responsive and so the screen is stuck at max brightness.

It's an OLED screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. So the laptop is now effectively a ThinkPad X1 Yoga 1st Gen with the screen unit of the X1 Yoga 2nd Gen. Because the board couldn't fit into the chassis, we had to get a replacement 1st gen chassis aka keyboard base (keyboard, touch pad). We were able to get a board for the 1st gen that is: X1 Yoga 1st Gen. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a replacement motherboard for the X1 Yoga 2nd Gen. A friend had a ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen and it wasn't switching on anymore.
